These are real verdicts from the live checks (model jev-1.13.0, 28 September 2026). We wrote the example texts, and the verdicts, percentages and "Why" lines are exactly what the checks returned. We included cases where the checks get it wrong, because they do.
Should I send this?
-
Could you pick up milk on your way home? We're out.
SEND IT 91% safe to sendWhy: low regret risk · friendly tone · clear, fair point · “Smooth. Hit send.”
Short, friendly, clear request. Nothing to misread and nothing to regret.
-
u up? 👀 been thinking about u all night. why did we even break up lol. call me
SLEEP ON IT 58% riskyWhy: high regret risk · chasing energy · passive-aggressive jabs · “Drafts folder energy.”
Late-night energy and a "why did we break up" in one message. Not a disaster, but the regret and chasing signals push it into "sleep on it".
-
I've texted you 14 times today. Are you dead??? Answer. ANSWER ME.
DO NOT SEND IT 76% don't sendWhy: hostile tone · high regret risk · chasing energy · “Screenshot risk: extreme.”
Caps, repetition and a demand for a reply: the hostility and neediness signals both fire.
Is this cringe?
-
The cat has claimed my new chair. I live here now apparently.
NOT CRINGE 17% cringeWhy: effortless · no bragging · self-aware · “Nothing to wince at.”
Self-aware and low-key, which is the opposite of cringe.
-
Are you a Wi-Fi signal? Because I'm feeling a connection 😉😉 swipe right if you're smart enough to get it
PRETTY CRINGE 61% cringeWhy: trying too hard · fishing for likes · forced slang · “Main-character energy detected.”
A pickup line trying hard and fishing for a reaction. It lands in "pretty cringe" mostly on the try-hard signal alone.
-
Just closed my first 7-figure deal at 23 🚀💰 Not trying to brag but if I can do it anyone can. DM me 'GRIND' to learn my secrets 🔥🔥🔥
MAXIMUM CRINGE 85% cringeWhy: trying too hard · humblebrag · LinkedIn energy · “Maximum wince.”
Humblebrag, hustle-guru voice and an emoji rocket launch. Several cringe signals at full strength.
-
Three years at the company today. Grateful for a great team.
PRETTY CRINGE 52% cringeWhy: takes itself seriously · fishing for likes · humblebrag · “The algorithm is wincing.”
A limitation: a plain, sincere work anniversary still came out "pretty cringe". The check can be harsh on anything that sounds like LinkedIn.
Am I overreacting?
-
My friend canceled on me last minute for the fourth time. I told her I was disappointed and asked if something was going on.
YOUR REACTION IS FAIR 67% fairWhy: reaction in proportion · measured wording · serious trigger · “Reasonable reaction, honestly.”
A repeated pattern and a calm response: the reaction fits what happened.
-
My group chat didn't reply to my meme for 20 minutes so I left the chat and unfollowed everyone.
DEFINITELY OVERREACTING 87% overreactingWhy: reaction outsized · minor trigger · no real harm · “Dial it down a few notches.”
Leaving the chat and unfollowing everyone over a 20-minute silence: a small trigger with a very big reaction.
-
Someone hit my parked car and drove off. I reported it to the police and my insurance.
PROBABLY OVERREACTING 59% overreactingWhy: a one-off · minor trigger · assumes bad intent · “Deep breath. Then reread it.”
A limitation: reporting a hit-and-run is a perfectly fair reaction, yet it came out "probably overreacting". Short descriptions of genuinely bad events can confuse it.
Is this a red flag?
-
She asked before posting a photo of us online.
GREEN FLAG 93% greenWhy: no control · respectful · respects boundaries · “Nothing waving here.”
Asking first is about as green as it gets.
-
He said he was single when we met, but I found out he's been living with his girlfriend the whole time and he keeps saying I'm overthinking it.
ORANGE FLAG 72% red flagWhy: poor communication · dishonest · ignores boundaries · “Worth taking seriously.”
Dishonesty plus dismissing the other person's concern: flagged orange, and the one-liner switches from jokes to "worth taking seriously".
-
She told me if I really loved her I'd stop seeing my friends on weekends.
RED FLAG 88% red flagWhy: controlling · poor communication · guilt or pressure · “Trust your gut on this one.”
Pressure and isolation from friends are strong signals, so there's no joke on this card.
What these show
- One strong signal is enough. A pickup line doesn't need to be a humblebrag too; trying hard is enough to register.
- It judges words, not context. A calm report of a genuinely bad event can still read as "overreacting", and a sincere post can read as cringe.
- Serious texts get no score. Anything mentioning threats, violence, abuse, stalking or self-harm gets help information instead of a verdict, so there are no examples of it here.
